Mark Mofid: Helping Patients, Teaching Students

For many doctors who achieve success, others are eager to have them share their knowledge. For Dr. Mark Mofid, he has done this in many ways. Whether attending a medical conference in the United States or abroad, teaching students at the University of California, or sitting with a patient who has battled cancer and needs extensive reconstructive surgery to help regain their confidence and self-esteem, Dr. Mofid is always willing to help others learn about the possibilities that exist with having plastic or reconstructive surgery. As a result, he has established himself as a leading authority on many fronts.

During his many years in practice, Mark Mofid has helped people obtain plastic surgery procedures that were done for purely aesthetic purposes as well as pressing medical needs. From helping a young woman gain additional confidence through breast augmentation to working with accident victims who need craniofacial surgery to repair their injuries, Dr. Mark Mofid has stepped up to the challenge each and every time.

When seeing patients, Dr. Mofid takes as much time as possible to visit with the person and understand not only their expectations from the surgery, but also their motivations as to why they want the surgery. By doing so, Dr. Mark Mofid can provide the patient with a careful, unbiased opinion of their situation.

In addition to his teaching duties, Dr. Mofid also works with many local hospitals in the San Diego and La Jolla area. These include Palomar Medical Center and Scripps Memorial Hospital, where he regularly helps patients with their surgical needs. These include such complex procedures as microsurgery, post-trauma surgery, and plastic and reconstructive surgery following a patient’s bout with cancer.

Along with having an experienced and knowledgeable staff working with him at his practice, Dr. Mofid also receives numerous testimonials regarding his surgical skills and empathy with his patients. Of all the testimonials given him, there is one that perhaps best sums up how his patients feel about him. It states “Thank you for everything you have done for me. You are not only an incredible doctor, but also a brilliant man.”
