Doe Deere, Pushing Pigments To New Limits

In an interview with “Guest of a Guest” the founder and creator Lime Crime spoke about meeting her husband and how she got started in the makeup business. First off, unlocking the mystery of Doe Deere begins with an early obsession with temporary tattoos. This, on its own, isn’t a shocking admission, but the fact that she actually started a business selling sticker tattoos, at the young age of 13. At the time she lived in Russia, where she was born. Deere moved to New York at age 17 and dabbled in the music business. She met her now husband, when they both performed in the same band. As the relationship developed, so did their mutual passions, her husband is the President of Lime Crime.

Doe Deere provided Guest of a Guest with some advice to women. She believes that women need to discover themselves first and what unique talent they have to offer. Obviously, it worked for Deere, who began her company online in 2008, from her Ebay account. Some people just know what they like and they stick with it. For Deere, she always preferred really bright pigmented eye shadows; yet she couldn’t find anything that satisfied her taste. So instead she created her own eye shadows and introduced them to the line of products she was already selling on Ebay. Deere learned marketing skills, which helped when it came to promoting her makeup line. Lime Crime has expanded and now includes hair dyes, lipsticks, nail polish and eye shadows.
